On Friday, September 29, 2017, at 4:00pm, we had Hakeem Adeniji-Adele, of Microsoft, at the C-Lab to talk about Transforming Nigeria through Technology, #TNTT at DevTalks.
The event was broken into two main parts; the chat with Hakeem Adeniji-Adele, followed by a question and answer session for guests to engage with the topic. It ended with the closing remarks and a networking session.
In celebration of Nigeria turning 57, we wanted to examine the ways that technology can help to drive our economy and growth.
In the first part of the event, Mr Adeniji-Adele highlighted Cloud technology, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data as areas that Nigerian tech community can leverage on, as these are sectors where innovative strides can be pioneered. This was followed by a lively question and answer session, where Mr Adeniji-Adele fielded questions from the audience for another one hour, and then the event ended.
At C-Lab, we always say “Transformation begins with information”, and that is why we’re fostering these types of dialogues at the Civic Innovation Lab, a technology hub in Abuja, Nigeria.
We’re creating an environment where tech and government stakeholders can gather, and figure out the ways that they can collaborate to drive the needle even further and move our country forward.
Which is why we’ll be holding the next Devtalks on Friday, October 20, 2017. Ms Yewande Sadiku, Executice Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council(NIPC) will be talking about Funding Technology for Development.
